Default cockblock in huge set - 14-12-2010, 07:36 PM

So a few days ago my wing wants to open a huge 5 set, all W.

3 were chatting in a triangle, the other 2 further along the bar facing each other talking some other stuff.

So we open, and with some effort get the attention of the 3. The 2 just turn a bit to see what's happening, but they can't really hear much, so they get back to their stuff. But after a minute, to consolidate the set, I try to get on the other two as well. So I ask one to get what their friends think of <opinion opener> too.

She does, her friend turns to her, gets the story from her, says two words and then, looking at us, makes a bad expression and the bye-bye/fuck-off with her hand.

I've never seen a cockblock that abrupt and ruthless I say some like "oh cmon, I can't believe your friend is always that unfriendly" to her friends, but she "worsens" the expression and resumes the bye-bye hand. Her friends didn't take a position there. I guess that happened too early in (just before the Hook Point) and she was a leader in the group.

So we just left the set with a "whatever". Needless to say that was quite a Social De-Proof in the venue, and my wing was so pissed and conscious that he wanted to move to another venue
How would you handle such case?
