Flakes Ultimate Guide to being a Gentleman

Section A: To everyone everyday
1) Smile and greet everyone you make eye contact with.

2) Hold doors open and say you're welcome when they thank you(and not wanker when they don't).

3) Firmly shake hands when meeting someone for the first time.

4) If you are in an elevator ask what floor people want to get off at.

5) Do not groom in public. Pick nails, comb hair etc.

6) Be punctual

Section B: In general conversation

1) Maintain eye contact when they talk to you and smile when they do.

2) Use people's names when addressing them. People love to hear their own name.

3) Do not talk about yourself unless you are sharing something you have in common or they ask about you.

4) Avoid contentious issues such as religion and politics and if they bring the subjects up, disagree with class. Do not dismiss their argument but present your own with modesty.

5) Avoid inside jokes around new people.
Section Love: With the Ladies

1) Walk beside or in front of her on the stairs.

2) Offer her your arm.

3) Make sure she gets home safely

4) Get out of your car when picking her up.

5) Introduce her to people

6) Carry an umbrella and offer ladies shelter when it rains; or offer your coat if they do not have one.
Section D:The Gentleman Style

1) Hygiene is paramount. Wash your hands regularily and properly. Finger nails should be filed/cut and not bitten.

2) Oral hygiene goes without say

3) Have Neat hair (Use Bryll cream)

4) Grow a trimmed but thick moustache; wear a bowler hat, three peice and a monacle.
Sextion E: On the Date

1) Leave reasonable tips at a restaUrant - leave more for good service.

2) Do not be fussy or tight with food. If she recommends something, try it.

3) Arrive with a small gift if you are picking her up.

4) Turn off your phone.
Section E:Gentleman Generousity

1) Give small gifts to mailmen, paper boys, bin men etc. at christmas.

2) Give reasonably to charities or causes you agree with.
Conclusion:The Ultimate Gentleman

1) The ultimate gentleman is cultured and intellectual but not pretenticious or arrogant. Share your cultural knowledge but do so without pride.

2) The ultimate gentleman thinks before he speaks and talks slowly so all can hear.

3) The ultimate gentleman only wants to be rewarded by himself. Do not do something expecting something else in return.

4) The ultimate gentleman is calm and firm. He will only fight in defence.

5) The ultimate gentleman does not laugh at others failings but offers a helping hand.

6) The ultimate gentleman is modest. He does not flaunt wealth, brag or show off.

7) The ultimate gentleman is competitive but not a bad sportsman. He complements others rather than makes excuses and does not mind losing.
Chivarly and Pick-up
I wouldn't go far to say that being a gentleman is unattractive but many of the actions can percieved as weak if not done correctly. Certainly being a gentleman in a nightclub will do you no favours so I feel being a gentleman should be reserved for certain situations and certain types of people. Victorians
