Lightbulb Porn/masturbation - oh yes! - 20-01-2010, 12:13 PM

Right chaps, porn/masturbation - talk to me.

How much is healthy, how much is excessive, can you do it too much, can you cause yourself damage..?

Clearly related to Brain & Body, so this thread begins..

As sexual beings we get much satisfaction from exercising our sex drive, indeed it helps us grow as we understand more about ourselves. But is there a point when it becomes unhealthy..

I want to know your thoughts, and any knowledge that backs it up would be super..

A quick search on good old wiki not so fruitful, almost half articles written on the subject (but linked for your reference)

Many moons ago I was in Waterstones and I came upon a book called the porn trap in the self improvement section.

A quick flick through the pages, the book had some very useful insights into the long term effects on the psyche of continued porn viewing (creating anxiety, insecurities, tension etc) and the nature of the addiction escalating, starting for most at soft then escalating to hard then fetish over time.

Really wanted to buy this book, but looked over at the counter and there was a young girl on the till, next time I said - which never came..

Have since found it on the net and may purchase it, as to be honest - I WATCH FAR TOO MUCH PORN AND MASTURBATE MORE THAN I'D LIKE TO.

Waterstones.com: The Porn Trap (eBook): The Essential Guide to Overcoming Problems Caused by Pornography by Wendy Maltz, et al. (2008)

Anyway, over to you guys. How's the old porn and lube going for you these days?

Its simple, be cool.
