I think that it actually was not until towards the end of the year 2000 that website forums began to get really busy. And not until early 2001 that they because extremely busy. The old forums of the 1990s usually only had one topic section for them and were still quiet. It was only as they became quite busy from late 2000 onwards that forums were divided into separate topic sections. And early website forums looked terrible as well. They looked a mess compared to todays clean smart forums. And you could not post photos or video clips in them either. In recent years website forums have become very quiet again due to the massive rise of social media and social media smart phone apps.I think Inprefered the earlier days of the internet from 1999 to 2005. Because at least you identity was protected behind nicknames.
