Working for the new energy company sounds interesting. The main reason being that it's absolutely brand new, and as new recruits you're quite literally going to be there from the company's very beginning.

In my estimation this can only mean one thing - that you'll move up fast. Obviously you couldn't just sleepwalk your way up, but my 5 years in this industry puts me in a position to hit the ground running.

They need energy specialists, team leads and trainers. I made her aware I was available for any of those roles but particularly team lead and trainer. As I've more than enough experience to take them on. She also asked me to tell her the salaries of the roles, because as they're new they don't know what they should be. Of course, she could have just said this to get an idea of what I'd be expecting. I played it safe and said a number which is about average for those roles. But at interview I'd be negotiating the lowest of these further to allow for the equivalent of sales bonus I would have made (if that's the job I was to get). In fact I should probably aim a little higher, since I'd appreciate an extra incentive to come over to them.

They want to launch in May, and take on their first 5 employees in late March early April, in order to allow 4 weeks training.

To me, the idea of being a prospectively large company's very first ever staff sounds quite exciting. And since they're actively seeking out staff from rival company's, it feels like I hold quite a few of the cards.

Gunna pass on my CV and go for the interview in a week or 2.
