To be honest that's what it sounds like to me too, upon first reading.

Maybe she fancied you but didn't know how to handle a cool, collected and centred guy? Perhaps she's used to guys falling at her feet whenever she talks to them? Or like you say Picard, maybe she was being the gobby Mother Hen and trying to demonstrate Will as low value in order to put off one of her friends.

Either way, sounds to me like you handled it pretty much perfectly Will. If a girl wants to give you shit, that's her problem for being a sketty bitch. You did right - you made it clear that you weren't going to take that kind of talk and probably made her embarrass herself.

I'm glad to see you progressing so quickly at this Will, having read your posts you seem like an absolutely class guy and I think you're going to do just fine with the ladies. You've got personality and quirkiness, and I can't stress how important that is in social interaction (this coming from a guy whose reality is filled with uninteresting and close-minded people, so trust me - I know!).
