Derren Brown - Hero at 30,000 Feet

In case anybody missed this a week or so ago, it's well worth checking out. It takes a guy who is lacking in self-esteem and confidence and turns him into someone who seizes opportunity and takes the right action to make something of his life. Very inspirational.

I dont think there is thanks enough for this.

I wiill fully admit this resonated with me so much, I even shed a few tears.

Anyone into NLP should watch this. Any Bhuddist here should watch this.

Seeing how his life was completly changed by the decisions he made in just a single month should be an inpiration for everyone here willing to do better by acting better.

Thanks for sharing. I'm not always a big fan of Derren Brown but this is certainly interesting!

I like to think I'm mostly living in the moment and always pushing things and taking risks etc but there is so much more I should be doing to keep myself out my comfort zone and grow! It's so easy to slip in to the comfort zone though!

Yeah, I caught this the other week. I'm a big derren brown fan and thought was hugely inspirational. I'm with darood on this, it hit me on quite a personal level as I saw bits of my old self in the guys life.

Good stuff

Best hour I've spent in a long time.

The crocodile analogy surely has some resonance here. Senses open, knowing precisely what and where its prey is, and once biting, not letting go.

But more broadly - Live in the now, live every second, and in that second do only what you would do without a thought for the past or future.

Open all the boxes... Open all the boxes!

In the interests of looking at this critically, I thought I'd post someone's comment from Darren's blog. It throws up a few questions but it's non-conclusive.

Quote:

...I think there were lots of continuity errors that led many people to think it was staged – which may be a result if editing constraints. Maybe you could clear them up for disbelievers? Things such as why in the ‘croc’ sequence was it raining your side and not Matt’s? Also, when his phone was stolen, and seeing he works in insurance, would he not have had to contact the real police to get a reference number for an insurance claim? And, really, he wore GStar pretty much every day for a month!

There seems to be lots of other little issues that made us think ‘really…’ ....

but with a lot of his stuff.I always think "Hes a illusionist" and take it with a pinch of salt.

Agreed Camarda, cheap bs unfortunately.

Edit: Upon finishing = quite expensive bs!

Time to think about why you are really here.. and are you making the most of your precious once in a life time opportunity to be what you always wanted to be..

I mean if a dribbling retard can decide to try and land a plane, those of us starting from a higher level can achive so much more. or ateast have the faith in achieving a threesome with a pair of HB9s
