Art of War - Sun Tzu
 

This had been on my list for a while, seen it name checked and quoted in loads of development literature.
It's apparently the most requested book in the US prison system - this fact made the cute librarian's eyes glaze over rather than secure digits- I'm on a rusty spell:)
It's not what I expected at all.

I read a version with essays on the text which helped with context.
Won't give you a 'say this if the dude does this' vibe.
Will reinforce Tao, go with the flow, be water type vibe.
ie stop trying to have blueprints for everything you encounter and there is your power.

Surprisingly easy to read but then meaning and depth in context.
If you liked Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, kicking ass on Dynasty Warriors 6, curious about different types of sentence structure or at risk of getting shanked on cell block 6 in Virginia you might also enjoy.

Yes it was the Denma.
I think they made occasional changes to preserve meaning.
Reading it flexibly helps anyway, willing to invert attack/defense etc.
