If you had nothing left to lose
 

Scenario: You have lost everything. All your friends/family, your job, you have no money, you have nobody to talk to, nobody cares in the world, you are free to do ANYTHING you want.

What would you do?

Sometimes I think to myself, if I didn't have such a "normal" lifestyle, I'd think about joining the marines or something (upon gaining the required fitness).

Or if anybody has seen the film "The Beach", I'd love to live like that!

The Beach had one of the best marriages of music and scene that I can remember, the part where they reveal the beach to Moby's Porcelain I think it was, was superb.

I don't know what I'd do, I think without money you'd be trapped not free, but if I could do anything...hmm, I'd probably travel the world.

PS

Go abroad, hitchhike somewhere, beg a little bit for food, run PU to get somewhere to sleep until I could get some casual work, then just travel about until I found somewhere to settle.

I don't really see this as liberating, your answer should never be a better one than what you are doing at the moment or your doing the wrong thing at the moment. If you want go to "the beach" or join the marines, just do it. Dont pretend that these things mean you can't. You're already "free to do anything you want".

I'd go on the dole

I'd be very scared. Anyone who's says they wouldn't be would be a liar.

If I had some cash saved up I'd go travelling from place to place, maybe with an old dog as a companion.

It would be a toss up for me between possibly killing myself or joining these guys
