Stand my ground or be machiavellian
first of this is my first post on here so hello all. now a bit about the situation, i have been abroad for a fair few years and recently asked my daughters mum out for a drink, i made it clear i wasn't just asking her out as friends nor was it a first step in us building our relationship again, and that it was more just a roll the dice kind of night, which she agreed too. the day before we spoke and she stated "you don't think tomorrow is a date do you? we are just going out as friends" which of course was awkward as it's not what was agreed.
my reply was to state that it was exactly as i originally mentioned but if shes looking to keep this in the friend zone then thats fine but i cant promise that will happen so if thats how she feels we shouldn't go. she chose not to come for a drink. my question is this... should i have acted as if the friend zone was cool with me ? or did i do the right thing in drawing a line in the sand? |
yeah cool thanks, good to see you agree
