Best get to the gym boys.

Interesting read recommended from The Rational Male. Whilst having game is vitally important, looks definitely matter. Especially so with the prime SMV 18-24 year old ladies. You can control your looks, get to the gym and have both.

Right. That's about the 5-6th time the word "gym" has stood out for me in the last fortnight, feels like its some kind of subliminal suggestion. Time to look more into this.

Really enjoying the gym at the moment, as much for the psychological benefits.
Totally agree with this!

All I will say is that I've been on both sides of the fence, I've been in terrible shape and in great shape. I can wholeheartedly say that my success with women is much higher when I'm in great shape.

It's easy for people to take it to the extremes but I think every man owes it to himself to at least be in decent physical shape.

What exactly is 'the look'?
I owe it to myself to stay in reasonable shape, but I'm certainly not Mr. Universe, I hit the gym probably a few times a week, but nothing excessive.

I think recently in the UK especially, everything has changed. I was discussing this with a friend recently and I believe everyone has gotten bigger, not only through fitness but lack-of too.

I don't think it has lost its appeal too much clearly from my comment above, but I do believe this lad culture is affecting people's perception towards this type of male.

A healthy body will definitely affect positively on the functionality of your brain chemistry though... doesnt mean you have to look like arnold shwarzenegger or wear a backwards snapback with huge headphones, but to be physically fit is vital for things like confidence, assertiveness and proper hormonal regulation. Diet and exercise can assist and in some cases completely cure certain mental illnesses in some children and young adults (adhd for example). Imagine the benefits to the "normal" person, personally I always feel I think more clearly, have a more stable mood pattern and interact with greater fluency when I'm on top of my training and diet.

These protruding veins are always getting lots of attention.
Maybe there is some hidden instict about them.

astroboy 31-01-2016 10:38 PM

I think that's key. You at least owe it to yourself and how it makes you feel to take care of yourself. When you're not working out in essence your saying you don't give a shit about yourself in my opinion.

Wouldn't go as narrow as 'looks' (implies bodily aesthetics), but would keep it nice and broad and talk about 'physical presentation' e.g. includes stature, posture/body language, and style - which can all be great allies, as well as (enhanced) personal aesthetics
