Default Raging Bulls & Hypothermia - symptoms of fear - 14-10-2009, 01:00 PM

Raging Bulls

Imagine you are out walking your dog, it's a lovely day, you can feel the warm sun on your skin, a gentle breeze caressing you, you are walking through a large field, the lush, green grass swaying in the breeze and the excited sharp yapping of your dog sounds in your ear as he chases after his chewed up stick...

As you get halfway into the field you stop.....there standing directly in your path is a big, very angry looking bull, he has large muscular shoulders and long sweeping horns (perfectly designed to poke you in the ass!), steam is snorting out of his nose as he glares at you.....STAMPING the ground - very pissed that you are in his field!!!

It is at moments like these we experience "FEAR" as we recognise it... adrenaline is released, blood is diverted to muscles, tummy feels weird and limbs start shaking (fight or flight)

Hypothermia

Hypothermia occurs when a person’s core temperature falls below a certain point... In extreme cases shivering stops and death is near...

You have probably seen the movies or read the books when a character is fighting the cold, "stay awake dude - don't fall asleep" the onset of cold becomes a soothing voice telling you all will be ok, just go to sleep and you will be warm.... everything will be ok - the stars will keep shining, the earth will continue to orbit the sun... and you will never wake up...

You will be dead

The most dangerous feeling of fear is like hypothermia, it is insidious, and it soothes you… promising to take away pain and discomfort - while it softly, gently kills you...

<Impulse> "I should approach that hotbabe10"
<hypothermia/fear> "Noooo!!!! Good looking girls are all bitches, she wouldn't like me anyway, I'm not in the mood...I can do this another time, there's always tomorrow"

"You are either growing or dying" T. Harv Ekker

By facing our fears down and taking action (more to follow in later post) we build confidence, self esteem, purpose, pride, self worth, independence… realise our goals and dreams – become the person we know you truly can be…

By backing away from our fears…bit by bit they kill us, sapping motivation, losing integrity, low self esteem, no desire no drive, feeling bad about yourself, feeling undeserving, becoming a smaller and smaller person with limited perspective, with a limited life, saying things like “if only” “I could of” living with fear, anxiety and regret – this is not living!

“Do the thing and you shall have the power” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

The path to self actualisation, happiness, contentment, true love and anything else we REALLY want from life - is only attainable by facing down our fears....
