Yeah I see it happening with a few guys I know from uni or before. They're currently engaged or looking like going that way. Although to be honest, they're the sort of lads who are hardly going to pull supermodels no matter how much "self-actualisation" they do. Decent guys, fun to be around and all the rest of it, but not good looking enough, not rich enough and not really "winners", if you get my meaning.

It depends what you mean by going for "the best" kind of girl. "The Best" in my case is a girl who has the perfect personality above all else (a surprisingly small bunch). Obviously if we're being choosy she'd have to be fit and reasonably pretty as well, but these aren't the be all and end all when it comes to a long-term relationship. Just look at that Claire lass from the train. By no means the prettiest (a 6 or 7 if you had to put a number on it), but she had a dazzling personality and was fit to boot, and she's probably one of the highest "value" girls I've ever met. I'd value her infinitely over some plastic fantastic with fake tits and tan applied with a trowel.

Depends what you're after though. If you like having a girlfriend and are after a LTR (and some guys are, me included), you're going to be after different criteria than if you're after shagging some sluts.

At the end of the day I think we can all see those who are settling for less and those going for the win. I am currently mulling over this very fact as I have become restless in my own relationship. I am equating just what I am genuinely looking for from a relationship, if one at all.

Oh please can we stop with the 'number ratings' for women already. It's not like it's some objective measure we can all agree on. The whole idea of processing 'value' in this manner sets you up to fall.

If you start assigning number values to women, sooner or later with a little luck and determination you'll stumble into the knickers of one you consider to be rated '10'. Then what happens? You drop your pants lose your balls and start putting it all on the line to convince her she's 'the one'.

And it might even work. If you phase out all your mates, fund her lavish lifestyle while she spends 9 months emailing a handful CVs to the kind of 'fashion/media' jobs she has her pretty/silly little heart set on. If you buy a property that's close to her mum's house (even though that means it's a solid hour and half commute away from your friends/family/work) and let her live there rent free no questions asked. If you sack off your friends to accompany her when she sees hers, fall in line like a good boy when she tells you to, if you do all this then get on your knee and pop the question, she might say..'yes'.

But you've lost already. Her pussy might not dry the fuck up on you on your wedding night. Or the night after. but sooner or later it will. Because no woman respects a man she can control.

And if you process value in these terms that's what happens. You are the dog and she's the bone.

Worse case scenario her respect for you reaches rock bottom shortly after she's popped out your first born. There's very little to stop her robbing you blind financailly and emotionally at that point. You can then look up those mates you abandoned years ago and cry to them all you like about what a heartless cunt she is...But it won't be her fault. It'll be YOURS. Because you spent your entire relationship telling her she was better than you, you can't turn around now and blame her for finally believing it.

TBH though I don't rate neither. Purely for the reason that theres too many variables e.g. At face value she might be an 8 but because she's super fucking cool becomes a 9/10.
