sure have, thought i'd throw myself in at the deep end.

atomicjake 27-05-2011 01:11 AM

ha, go on... whats your opinion?

atomicjake 27-05-2011 01:17 AM

i assume you guys havent been on one and think its gonna be useless?

RLAJay 27-05-2011 01:20 AM

Kowalski's opinion is that paying for anything out there is stupid when all the information is in the free domain anyway when you look hard enough - that's without any sort of piracy at all.

It's also that bootcamps are a magic bullet sales tactic that promise the whole world while delivering nothing. Less than 1% of people would get anything more than a kiss on bootcamps and leave with nothing more than a rudimentary knowledge of all the basic information in the industry that can be gained from a few hours reading anyway.

Changing from someone who is generally incompetent to someone that is competent is a task that takes time and a steady emotional and intellectual change, not merely because you need confidence but because you need time to see the results of incremental changes in your demeanour in order to make them natural parts of your behaviour.

The general opinion here is that you should join a community (such as this one) and meet some guys in your area or travel to an area with some guys using the community. You should then use that community as an ear(so to speak) in order to bounce you experiences off and give feedback while you explore who you are and who you'd like to become through the events that occur on your journey.

That about right guys?

EDIT: To clarify - That's not my opinion, not entirely. It's not that far removed though.

yeah i know where your coming from (RLAjay, Jaz, Kowalski). I'm just using this as a kickstart into the practical field aswell as reading books, old posts etc.

wanted to find out if anyone has actually been on a weekend with this group.

And for the record, it doesn't matter whatever the fuck the refund policy is - not if it's a UK one you're attending.

24. PUA Training operates a credit-only system, whereby if you wish to cancel your place for a live event you are not entitled to a refund for any payment you have made, whether a deposit or payment in full, other than in accordance with your statutory rights, but may transfer this payment towards a later identical event (or one of greater value).

Don't allow this bullshit to decieve you, take special note of the bolded statutory rights, they are incredible things that too many UK consumers don't know anything about.

You have 7 days of cool off within which you can ask for a full refund for no reason whatsoever. That's not from the moment you pay by the way, that's from whenever you get confirmation of booking.

If they try to tell you that you'll lose your deposit tell them to go fuck themselves, your statutory rights apply to 100% of costs except for leisure/travel/catering. You have not incurred any of these costs until 7 days before the event occurs.

Do not accept anything less than a full refund - if that is what you decide to do. Do not allow them to dance around you either. Your rights apply the moment you ask for a cancellation, NOT the moment they receive a request to cancel. Send a letter in writing the same day you send whatever email request, inform them in the email that you have also sent it to them in writing. If you do not send it in writing they can dance around you for the 7 day period and then tell you it's too late to cancel.

Go for it now that you've committed yourself Jake. All the best! It is all an experience and from what you said you do when I met you, it looks like you can afford it.

Next time, head out with me for a weekend and I'll have you doing more approaches than there are holes on a second hand dart board. Which is to say, a lot of approaches.

Just make sure my glass is full all night :D Not bad compared to the £££ you're going to be spending this weekend aye!
