First 'game' since discovering PUA -
09-04-2011, 10:45 AM
Alright chaps, as you know, I'm very new to all this, its been opening my eyes to social interactions. I joined a gym on wednesday and thought it would be giggle to try a couple of bits of game there. Hopefully you can give me opinions, ideas of things to try, what I did wrong, what I could have done better etc.
So, I got to the gym, the Assistant Manager, cute petite thing in a trouser suit (Major turn-on for me) greeted me, she showed me round and I didn't take much interest in her, just being impressed with the facilities, making sure I was smiling and carrying myself in a confident posture.
When she came to put my details into the computer she asked exactly how I spelled my surname so I told her, I elaborated on the different spellings and their meanings, and it's history (Don'tknow if anyone has done this before, perhaps I've created the 'Genealogy Opener'?!) she seemed pretty interested. She then had to take a photo for the ID or something and said I shouldn't normally, but I could strike a silly pose if I wanted (Not sure if this was an IOI or whether she said that to everyone, it was too closely linked to her work for me to distinguish) Finally, she asked if my postcode was right, I confirmed it and said it was interesting how when you put it in Sat Nav it says it can't find my address, but when I put it in properly, it works. I went on about how you should never put your home address as 'Home' on a sat nav and why.
Somewhere in all that she told me she was 26 for some reason (Only a year older than me, she's passed my first criteria!) I took that as an IOI. Anyway, she said she'd have to do the sat nav thing and if it doesn't work, she knew my address and would have to hunt me down! Great, an inside joke about her hunting me down. Sorted.
Went to the gym, then opened a couple of Polish girls in the sauna with the best friend test, I guessed they'd known each other for 3 years, it was actually 2 but it was all good. One asked if I was a member, what I did for a job, usual fluff. Felt a little intimidated as one didn't speak great English and they were nattering in Polsh. I bumped into them later in a steam room and said that they were following me around.
Then the cock-block, another guy had an employee who was polish so they got chatting, I sat there awkwardly then asked if they could teach me some polish. I know how to say hello and goodbye etc, so that'll be a good opener when I see them next time.
I didn't close anything, not sure if that was timing, my lack of confidence in my first try of the game or what...
Over to you guys, analyse!
Thanks, Herbert.

Quite good results here. A word of warning though, people usually go to gyms for alone time and can be very on the defensive. A lot of people aren't particularly keen on others seeing them "at their worst" - sweaty and huffing.
That said, sounds like you did pretty well. After giving your number to the girl at the assistant manager you should have demanded her number in return because that's how trading numbers works.. You should definitely at least try pursuing that next time, sounds like she was into you.
When people do something like talking in a foreign language in front of you when you've been talking to them don't be afraid of calling them out on it. Tell them they're being rude. Also, teach me how to speak x is something they get all the time. Try something like "You sound Russian", the Polish girls I've met all hate that. It makes for a fun playful tease regularly. "Oh it's the Russian girl again! Hiiii"
Good first stuff. Keep it up. Out of interest did you have any approach issues? These first reports are usually all about approach problems.

Cheers chaps, I was a bit concerned about the whole gym thing and it not being the best pickup environment. Lol, that Russian line sounds great, should have thought of something different, I think I was just concerned about the cock-block and needed to get them talking to me again, hence the lame teaching thing...
As for approach issues, I wasn't too bad, I always used to have approach issues but then I thought, fuck it, just go and say something, you never get anything if you don't say anything! I think the first part is still tricky, the convo is most likely to tail off when its just starting so keeping it going is more of an issue for me...
Thanks for the analysis and I'llpost again if I manage to close anything! Laters.

Hey you seem on the right path, and from the txt youve written you seemed to have been in "the zone" when talking. This is an on going process and will take a while before its cracked, each social interaction will slowly develope an emotional peice of art in your head. Ive been doing this for about 2 months and i still dont close alot of the time, but its about developing slowly and strongly and never going back. One thing i have learnt in my short time and that is to not over analyse everything. If you find yourself thinking of what to do next when your in a set then your over analysing! needs to be spontanious, which i think your doing well!

I remember at my old work this Turkish guy used to get so livid when the Chinese spoke in Chinese in front of him lol
I remember this guy at my gym pulled a girl once but after they started dating never saw either of them again. so their reasons for going down are highly dubious.
