Confused

Dear All,

As someone who is brand new to all this, what steps would you recommend I take in venturing out into the game?

I am, at the moment, in a state of confusion about where to start. I've read a few books and some info on websites. Everyone seems to have a different method. I'm keen to get down to the nuts and bolts of what steps to actually take. What's the most effective way of developing proficiency at the game?

Many thanks

Hound

Go open for real as many times as you can and see where it takes you. Thats the first step.

Rabbid has it spot on. No point reading stuff if you're not gonna go out an practice. Go out, open sets. That's about as complicated as it needs to be.

Not saying this stuff doesn't help but you should use it to break past sticking points. Go open find out if you can do it, if you cant come back and work out what your stuck at fix it and try again. See how far you get, if you get stuck again come back work out a way round it and go out again.

So just go up to girls and use an opener and see what develops from there?

You won't learn anything quicker then that. If you are having trouble there is a couple rules you can learn now.

1) Enter groups of people and address everyone, a group will blow you out if you try to just creep on one.

2) Mystery's 3 second rule, if you see a set enter with in 3 seconds of sight. This means you approach before you get self concious and start screwing your head up.

3) Make it natural situational or spontainous. If you are still struggling then you can use canned openers, but try not to use the common ones.

4) Don't hang around like a bad smell, your the catch here. Be prepared to walk away and for them to stop you.

5) Once in change the subject and see where it takes you.

Most important of all though just have fun, be a positive energy that people want to be around.

in addition to Rabbid's sound advice, use this very most delectable forum's "Find a Wingman" section, so you are with like-minded people -- will create a good learning environment.

Plus, will be further motivating for you too, as it creates nice energy levels, a fun night out meeting new interesting guys, as well as doing the all-important HB pick-up goal.

Thanks for the advice.

Currently, I am reading through a book called Easy Attraction by Jack Coxwell. I'm also trying to get a band off the ground and also looking to get regular work playing the piano at weddings, as well as doing the day job (teaching music). It's gonna be a crazy-assed year, but when I have some time I'll begin taking steps along the PUA path.

Will let you know how it goes.

Just open with things your comfortable with, read into body language. Have fun with it. Main thing is to just walk up to girls confidently and being able to start a conversation, if you don't have the balls to do this, its pointless being on here.

But I generally would advise you to work on body language etc.
