Incompetent Wingmen/Wingwomen

Hai all,

Curious to see if anyone has had dodgy wing experiences before.

I hung out a few times with a misogynist in my locality who claimed that almost every woman I approached was "terrible" and didn't deserve my attentions. Yet, I felt uneasy around this guy and my approaches always felt better without him.

I later found he was convicted for assaulting one of his kids, apparently.

I'm guessing most guys have experienced this. There's always going to be people you "click" with, others you clash with, and some you're just indifferent towards (as in life generally) You just have to go out there and meet different people and see what works for you, might take a bit of time, but you should find a wing/s that you enjoy hanging out with. But sure, you don't want to be around anyone that brings your mood down, especially when you're approaching women.

Yeah that's true. I've got a small mix of wings of varying degrees of skill in my area. Funnily enough, it's the less-skilled ones I click with better, whereas the more skilled ones run off :/

I think that almost everyone who takes game seriously, will encounter their special "crazy" wing that gets arrested, or does something hilarious. I can count 2 of them atm. Which one is yours?

In nearly ten years as a MASTER PUA I've only met 2 guys who were weirdos.

Although I concluded that that had no connection to these particular people being from the pua world and more to do with weirdos in general.

If you meet enough people in any circumstance, you're going to meet the weirdos.

OK I wanna read this in full, only read the first part then off to bed :/ If you give me LOLs whilst I'm reading this you'll have done me proud :)

Dan300 - I think I've done something wrong to have met more than you and only been doing this for 1.5 years. That, or I have high standards.

Im lucky I guess, I have a mate who is also a practicing PUA, he has only been practicing for about a year, a lot less time than me but he is sharp and knows the score, when to back off and when to come in.

On the other hand there is a couple of Guys that sometimes come out with us who just do not have a fucking clue and are more of a hindrance, to them going out is just going out for a drink with mates, to my wing and I going out means to go out to sarge, although one is slowly learning.

Yeah there's always one "special" wing for everyone ;)

Someone else told me of a wing he had who got kicked out of a shop for filming, and who also had no social awareness (stopping girls in the middle of a road with cars etc) as well as a flimsy but hilarious posture which oscillated between "slouching" like Quasimodo, to being preened back like in the vintage Mister Softee commercials.

When you go through shit people you really appreciate the good ones when they come

Could you give us any examples of such uncalibrated people? Newbies to game don't count; I'm referring to those who've been doing it for a while.

One guy I winged with claimed he'd been doing this for 13 years, yet had approach anxiety and would often open sets with irrelevant statements/questions and couldn't entertain groups. I'd call that pretty uncalibrated.

Ultimately if you're in the latter category, you basically have to swallow your pride and get good coaching.

Most of the time my wing and I are out on our own and do fairly well, its only the odd time when the 2 AFCs are out with us for a lads night out that they can be a hindrance if my wing and I spot a set we want to open, we are always looking for the opportunity to game, they seem to not understand no matter how many times we tell them, but they are mates so cant fuck your mates off all the time.

So, are you and Vanilla Ice the same person or is he an associate of yours? Your name is Darren isn't it?
