What did I do wrong?

I had an open relationship problem a few of months ago that I haven't really thought about since, due to it turning into a serious relationship with one girl til just recently.

Anyway, at the time I was in an open relationship with one girl and she was happy(ish) that I was dating other girls too. One of the girls I was dating turned a little more serious, although I had always made it clear that it was a relaxed thing we were doing and we were just casual.

We had a night together (no sex though) and the next day we were driving along and told her I was in an open relationship (tactfully!). She went silent, stopped the car and told me to get out! She apologised later but said she didn't want anything to do with it. Where do you think I went wrong? Never sure when to bring that sort of thing up! or maybe she as just a girl that was into normal relationships??

I would say the part where you told her that u was in an open relationship, if something like that happend again I think the woman u started getting serious with dont tell them anything you think that will hurt them or give them 2nd thoughts. It makes her feel that there not important enought to have them exclusive.

Woman are weird to figure out sometimes but if they where in your situation they would think there was a problem with it.

If she doesn't want an open relationship too that's her choice. Nothing unusual about that. As for announcing these things, it's probably best do it before things get anywhere near 'serious' as you put it.
