Socially Awkwards

Hi all,

Not sure if this is in the right place, so if it's not please feel free to move it.

I am going out with the lads tomorrow, for afternoon/evening drinks (maybe more). I am a bit worried about how socially awkward they are. They are all really nice guys, but a bit socially awkward and don't seem to have much of a clue on how to ger started talking to girls.

Not to sound arrogant, but I've always done alright for myself, and mentioned in passing that I could wingman for them. They have been quite enthusiastic about the idea and I'm happy to help.

My question though is; are there any easy icebreakers that shy people have used/seen used successfully? I can chat about most things, but if there are any general opening questions and statements they can use that would help them immensely.

Cheers in advance.

Hi, how are you?

Is this seat taken?

What's your favourite flavour of ice cream?

Do you spit or swallow?
My personal favourite

i think that the best icebreakers are situational ones, such as thats a nice jacket is it velvet?

There's no magic opener that's going to get the girls interested. You should be more concerned that your mates know how to follow up the inevitable replies of "No"/"Yes"/"I think so" etc.. as in my experience guys who lack social skills will just mutter some quiet follow up and then hide behind their bottle of bear.
Tell them to comment on what she's wearing (clothing/jewellery/shoes etc..) and then do the old 'Question-statement-question' to get her interested.
