Your spider sense (intuition)
 

Hi guys,

Just after hearing your own experiences on this one..

Yes i know that we have been told to have a mentality that assumes that it us always on. GREAT!....

but every now and again you go into set and your spider sense tingles and tells you that its on. I'm not on about you looking at the girl and going DAMN she's hot, and i'm not on about trying to read her body language, i'm on about something subconscious in your brain that picks something up almost instantaneous in the environment and just tells you that this girl wants to rip you cloths off and have her way with you.

The more i go out with the guys the more the intuition tuning seems to be going on, and the triggers seem to be happening more and more often (this is what happened with the last k-close).

Just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences.

This is what Malcolm Gladwell calls 'thin slicing' - the brain's ability to sift through vast amounts of information very quickly, select the most useful bits, and draw roughly accurate conclusions based on those pieces of information.

And importantly, that this is all done unconsciously. You don't look for these signals, you don't seek to recognise them. Its just a sense you get.

You just know.

The ability to thin slice during our interactions with women, as with everything else, isn't something we're born with. Its something we must learn, and we will learn only by experiencing hundreds or thousands of interactions with women.

Someone who has been active in Pick Up for 10 years, approaching thousands of girls along the way, will enter an interaction and very quickly - and unconsciously - thin slice the girl's responses and make deductions about her reactions which will guide his own actions. People who haven't been in Pick Up as long - someone like me, who has only been practicing for 2 or 3 months - will be less able to do this, and will either have to do it consciously (for example, searching for IOIs) or else just accept that this ability will come with time (my preferred approach - I think IOIs are rather arbitrary).

Just on this subject then. As its the case that the more we go out, the more our subconscious gives us that little bit extra info and feedback.

I know on a personal level that's its gone from NEVER triggering, to being quite regular on a night out, but i'm not 100% that its calibrated itself fully yet (too little use over the last 30 years) . Yes i know we are just saying that its always on anyway, so its kinda doesn't matter, but i'm going to ask the question anyway and That question would be, how much do you trust this new intuition?

I had spider-sense for years but just dismissed it as silly fantasy. Now I realise they were IOI's that I never acted on. I still don't nearly as much as I should (the old AA) but I definitely pick up on them.

My games not very good so my conversion rate is low, so there's still that bit of doubt in my mind that I'm actually just exaggerating the signs in my mind and really there's nothing there. But at least it gives me some motivation to keep on trying!
