Mac GEeks
Guys,
My macPro.... its about 2.5 / 3 years old. Recently had 8G Ram put in. It shouldn't be as slow as it is. I do have LOGIC pro on it, but is there anything you suggest to just clean the fucker up and make it go quicker?? |
Hey, this is a PUA forum brah. Only discussions about negging and false disqualifiers allowed.

I am a geek and I do own a Mac book pro however I have no idea how to speed it up. It looks so pretty though that is the main thing.

On windows I use defraggler and ccleaner to clear it up. think they have ccleaner on mac
edit: just read you do not need to defrag macs http://www.pcmech.com/article/file-s...defragmenting/ |
Macs use a unix based kernel and filesystem and space out file allocation tables, thus if your hard drive is fragmented, its full and you need a new one.
Alternatively you can use an SSD which performance actually increases with the rate of fragmentation due to the way it accesses data without the use of a drive platter. CCleaner is great for all platforms. |

I use it on my droids, its a shame they don't have a version for Linux, you kind of have to do it manually.

I've found there's never a better substitute for fixing performance issues than backing up your personal files & info and then reinstalling OS and programmes...
