Germany.....
 

I am off to Freiburg in Germany on Thursday for a long weekend with some friends. The reason we are going is one of the guys knows a German girl who he met travelling who lives there and she has planned a few nights out for us.

Since heavy getting into gaming my experience has been in the UK therefore come across no language or culture barriers. Has anyone got any tips or experiences for these issues?

I aim to put up my first field report when I get back from Germany on Monday.

You will probably find that quite a lot of German people know basic English.

And if the girl likes you, she will make some kind of effort to communicate.

You really can use the fact you're foreign, and have a genuine time constraint to your advantage. I've had this scenario (reversed) a few times with girls on short trips to Manchester who I've met.

I think it will be a good experience to really work on my body language, tone, volume and speed of speech.

I don't Freiburg is a massive touristy place in Germany so I am hoping not many English will go there which I hope will work to my advantage and I guess the fact you are away from all your normally daily stress's etc means your in a happier state anyway which I find helps massively.

It is still surprising to me how some nights I have had success with sets opening and hooking then other nights when I feel more tired or not in the right head space that they don't stick and hook.
