Freshers!

I'm going to a mate's Uni for Freshers' week.

I'm a little bit older so I'm not a fresher but definitely want to meet some girls that have just started Uni and are in the party spirit.

Any Fresher-specific advice, like conversation topics, how cocky to be, etc.?

My best advice is read the thread and try to use that as ground work to make up you're OWN openers and etc etc, cause you don't want to be in a situation where the girl has heard the lines from someone else

Ooooo yeah and hit the gym for a few days! As well practice your smiles, body language n well do some warm up sets in your local area before heading to uni.. reason being you're succesful approaches will probably boost your confidence and your failed approaches you'll have an idea on what you need to improve on...

I'd go with super high energy - you're gonna have to be pretty full on to top some of dem dere fresher kids! Run up to them, ask if they're freshers and high five the sh1t out of them lol.

TBF though mate, everyone has their guard down during freshers week - they all want to meet new people. You could probably walk up to any group and introduce yourself and they'd be more than happy to chat to you.

Yeah man, freshers week is ace because the atmosphere set up so you can talk to sooooo many girls. There are deffinatly a few girls who have their guard on full alert tho and shun every guy they see, but tbh they're quite amusing because they look like tossers lol!

I've finished my degree now and i regret that i was an absolute AFC in my last 2 freshers weeks and got frightened by the fact that i thought if i go upto a group of girls they will reject me outright. Truth is they wont, i wouldnt even worry about openers tbh because they'll be intruiged that you simply chose them to talk too.

Im gonna make a big effort this freshers week to just get out and talk to as many girls as i can! Really cant miss out on freshers week, play you're cards right act fairly cocky and confident about the uni you're at and the fresher girls will look upto you. This is memo for both me and you mate. Just smash the approaching! Be a shark and dont look back!

AFC pretty much sums me up at the mo. Yeah, I just need to get into the zone of "I'm slightly older than thou so therefore slightly cooler" haha.

All my Facebook girly friends seem way too excited about Uni so I guess you're right, '88. Maybe if I demonstrate a bit of knowledge about the Uni, I'm a big source of excitement...in theory anyways

Ha! Good to see the shark thing is catching on!

On a slightly more relevant note, however, just go and approach approach approach. Freshers week is absolutely teeming with hot girls, 99% of whom are up for meeting new people and most of whom are looking for an adventure (ie getting with someone). I guess the best thing I could really tell you is to use this idea of abundance of hot girls to your advantage - if one set doesn't dig you, there's bound to be another one that does. Don't be worried about being rejected upon opening, after all it's freshers week - everyone talks to everyone!

Oh also be the exception to the rule. In freshers week, upon meeting a new person, I guarantee that people ask the following questions (in no particular order):

- What's your name?
- Where are you from?
- What course are you doing?
- What did you get in your A-levels?

Next week (for Bristol freshers) I'm going out and opening with things like "Have you ever seen a dog drunk?" or "Is it me or does Michael Macintyre look like a beaver?" rather than the generic openers above.
The point is, be the exception.

Christ, that post was longer than I meant it to be :|

Ya - The whole talking about Uni work when you're trying to relax just seems like a complete no-no anyways. I've got some pretty strong opinions about Dave Gorman so I could start with that - Everyone loves Dave Gorman!

I'm in Bristol tomorrow - free curry when you go to pub quizzes apparently :D

Haha yeah the shark analogy is the tits blanca!

Backbone: The way i view it you've joined this site, you're a PUA now dude. Fuck you're AFC past, it is no more. Go out and sarge the shit out of them freshers! No fear buddy.

Another couple of cool things i might try in freshers week.. just make up absolute ridiculous degrees when asked about a course i.e "animal photography" (personal favourite) --> to be said with slightly cheeky/sarcastic tone. Then lightly shred anyone who believes you. Creates good banter and makes you look alpha and relaxed.

As well interact with the entire group, blokes included. I often make the mistake of just tryin to talk to birds. You'll appear far less threatening to pottentially vunerable fresher girls if you include the guys (thats if there are any in the group).

88 speaks the truth!

Your are not some acronym like AFC you are fucking awesome and age only matters if you think it matters, which it doesn't. My current ladyfriend is 6 years younger so don't worry about it.
