I got the DOMS bad baby!
 
Did squats for the first time in a while on Saturday. Got the DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) bad today! I fear for my life whenever I cross the road in case I don't make it in time! I'm walking like I should be getting a Birthday card from the freaking queen next week!! To look at me you'd think I'd gone 12 rounds with Julian Clary!!! Ok you get the picture, I'm hurting....

Is there ways of reducing this whilst still pushing yourself to the limit during workouts. Stretching and nutrition I'm predicting?

L-Glutamine in your post workout shake, and if you have another shake in the day, in that too. It's available on myprotein.com.

Stretching and plenty of protein, drop a milk protein powdered drink before bed or just cottage cheese, have somthing whey based when you get up

Stretching! Also the more often you train, the better it is in my experience.

Agreed. Glutamine works better than anything for this - I used to be hobbling around for days after a workout until I added this to the post workout mix. Great stuff - I think it also helps with muscle growth?

I alternate hot and total cold showers, 40 seconds to one minute each. Few rounds of that feels much better afterwards. Sometimes there is no DOMS at all.

i used to run afterwards and the day after. it used to kill to begin with but after a while blood starts pumping there and it feels much better. obviously you be running at top speed lol..

doms in general goes away tho after a couple of times squatting. i havent worked legs for like 2-3 months due to an injury... ive put off doing legs for like 2 weeks now cos doms is a fucking cunt.

Best way to lessen DOMS? Squat more. I squat 2-3 times a week. The less frequently you perform the exercise, the more estranged your muscles will be with it, and you will get horrible DOMS.

You know it is bad when you can't physically sit down on the toilet and you walk with a John Wayne swagger.
