planche push ups (get strong as fuck)

I was training torwards doing these a couple of years ago (they are fucking hard and no i didnt manage to do these) alongside doings chin ups, pistols (one legged squats) just thought i would share these i developed quite alot of strength in a short time doing these.

Kind of wish i had the motivation to continue doing these, i think this maybe of interest to those who do not train with weights, or you guys could google gymnastics strength training exercises. Most male gymnasts do not train with weights yet their strength levels are not far behind the likes of weightlifters and powerlifters.

Heres a link watch this insanely strong fucker YouTube - My Planche Training

i do a million of them before i even wake up!!

I could do a planche and from crouching, bring my legs through and roll into a handstand pressup.

I remember when i was at college the tutor walking back in the room after lunch and asking what the 2 black lines vertically on the wall where -- i had done 20 handstand pressups against it..

Im not naturally strong its through years and years of bodybuilding, although i have had a 2 year break from it and am just easing myself back into it now.

Im not currently strong enough to planche or do lots of handstand pressups but i do seated shoulder press free weight 70kg for 10 reps

I've never been able to do planche push ups. I used to be able to walk on my hands, and do push ups against a wall, but never planche. (by the way, didn't know it was called planche, had to google it lol). Maybe this would be a cool training goal for me...

Is that to failure? sounds like you would be capable of lifting somewhere in the region of 90 to 95 kg.

Refl3x 12-04-2011 09:02 AM

ya to failure thats also after ive been doing flat bench pressing too, so shoulders and triceps have already had some pain from that.

Lower quality same video with sound. Maybe?

Could be a completely different music track stuck over the top for all I know though. Not seen it before.

are you using this ? http://www.dragondoor.com/articles/b...g/default.aspx

Dont get me wrong i cant do this but i can press 65kg overhead and im about 10 stone (im all shoulders) lack strength in biceps and triceps, you need a reasonable amount of strength in legs arse and triceps in order to this.
