Quarantine routine -
23-04-2020, 05:14 PM
What you all doing?
I bought a shit tonne of weed, a shroom kit and an MPC One just as all this kicked off, so my days go a bit like this...
I wake up at 9:30, the little butcher on my corner opens at 9:45 and I want to be in first in there, no viruses, wash whatever I buy with soap then alcohol and start working at 10am.
At midday I shower and eat and either dance for a bit, read / watch / listen to something or make music. I work again 14:00 - 16:30. Then eat again this time with wine and smoke a little weed.
From 18:00 - 21:00 I am on call. If I have any work I need to finish up I'll do it then too. If not, I'll clean up a bit.
Around 8ish I'll eat half a gram of shrooms and abuse the energiser bunnies clapping from their balconies. The shrooms start to take effect around 9 when I'm no longer on call, half a g just gives you a slight buzz nothing crazy. Then more dancing, making music and watching / reading / listening to stuff till bedtime.
Half a g of shrooms and an MPC. That's a recipe of fun.
My diet is fairly narrow as there are only two stores I go to. The local butcher because so few people go the and I can be there first and a nearby Korean store because they are intelligent enough to not let you ever and serve you through a window hatch. Mostly I eat only meats and eggs with green leaf, I drink gazpacho and kombucha and wine, and if I need to snack I have some gyoza or grilled prawns with sirracha.
Throughout the day I'll randomly just do some burpees.
So far, honestly, except for the fact I'd quite like to go for a skate or just sit outside, this is fucking awesome. On balance this is better than what the old normal was. If my choice is between not being able to skate or really be outside much at all versus having to pointlessly go to a building every day, I'll take the current thing. Plus I get all my work done in less time and to a higher standard because there's no distractions, I'm not tired and I'm not desperate to get something out of the day in the later hours when I should be sleeping.
Outside can fuck itself.
Peace,
kowalski

I bought a bunch of online courses I've been doing. Completed the two life coaching ones and now I'm doing addiction therapy. That'll be followed by advanced CBT, then NLP, and I got another one on memory.
I'm in no real rush to get them done, but I imagine I'll have them all completed and passed by about July or August. As it stands I'm only really doing these as further topics of interest as a follow up to undergrad psychology, but I'm sure they could be potentially useful in a number of ways at some point.
The most I really have been able to maintain in terms of a structured schedule is every week morning from 9 to 11am I listen to a local talk/call-in radio programme whilst carrying out shit I've been meaning to do around my apartment. Then I usually eat at 12pm, 3pm and then again just before 6pm, with an 18 hour fast right through until 12 the next day. I can maintain this about 3 to 4 times a week but then I'll have a drink and eat some crap the next day, then start over again.
I go for big walks a few times a week, especially when it's sunny - which was practically every day for a month until today when it finally rained - whilst listening to a Joe Rogan podcast or Jordan Peterson lecture.
In between meals is study, reading, walking or errands such as driving to the supermarket. Evenings I like to study and read but it's unstructured and I'll do whatever I feel like for however long then read or vice versa. I've currently got about 5 books open and I enjoy the variance, makes you less likely to become bored of the one book.
I was already off work in recovery any way, so it hasn't been such a major upheaval to much of what I'd been doing for a number of months anyways, except the not being able drive to see family, and so with the extra free time I decided to get on the studying (thanks to the assistance of some well timed Facebook ads).
I try to minimise Facebook use though, because many people on it irritate me with their stupid questions and "Anyone know any good series I can waste my life away watching?", brain-dead fucks.
I started taking fat-burners a few days ago, which are a bit mental. It's just one a day but I feel constantly stimulated.

Nice.
I actually purchased a Maschine MK3 early last month, was considering the MPC One but am fairly happy with my decision. They are very similar by all accounts.
Personally, I've been very busy with work, there is more work on than pre-covid. I'm not complaining as I'm making bank at the moment. Outside of that I've been fairly strict with my body weight routine (daily) along with getting back into skateboarding. Oh and like yourself I'm making beats (or at least trying to)
I've got two women on switch who I've been seeing to bump chests with, both happy to break restrictions to hang out, eat takeaway food and bang. But I'm fucking sick of both of them to be honest. Hanging around with only females really brings you down. But yeah it's been okay I suppose.
That said, I do miss actual freedom and seeing the boys. Can't wait to get some new woman in my life too. Not gonna bother with trying to get any during this bullshit either.
I been drinking like crazy too. But fuck it.

Used the lock down as an excuse to be lazy soon as the Gym closed, put on over a stone, bollocks, cant wear fuck all now.
Bought a second hand rower and resistance bands, used em a couple of times thought they were crap so didnt bother, order another Pizza insread. Now back at the Gym and paying the price trying to shed the lock down belly.

Back in to lockdown for another 4 weeks then, and of course depending on how it goes it could be longer.
I've got a freelance business plan I've been working on and been building a website, because obviously I'm an impatient cunt and feel like I have to fill as much of my time as possible being productive, and I'll probably spend a fair amount of time on it during lockdown. I need to go for a long fucking walk in the mountains.
Haven't seen my sick mum properly in 7 months either because of the plague restrictions. I'm very mentally strong but lets just say I'd hate to be the guy who pushed my buttons right now.
Aside from all that, I really hope the aliens arrive, or failing that a very large asteroid.

Get a pet Dan, a dog or cat if you have are able to owning a dog or cat can elevate levels of serotonin and dopamine, which calm and relax. If you are unable to have a dog or cat, fish are a great way to relax too, hence why there are so many in doctors and dentists surgerys, Birds are good too, budgie's or parrots.

I would love to get a dog, a boxer. But since I'm always out for most of the day and I don't have a yard, it would be cruel.
Although other pets don't need so much attention. I did have fish before but they got adopted by a fish loving family because I just couldn't be fucked cleaning out the tank all the time.
Might get a white rat or two. Or a talking parrot.

Rats are great ive had rats, I had this particular rat when I was a kid that lived in my bedroom I kept the cage door open and he would come and go as he pleased, always messed in his cage too. Things would go missing, little bastard was a thief, I would find stuff hidden that he had taken. Loved being tickled with a feather and sleep on me. You would still get the same Endorphins to relieve stress.

Chill the fuck out, Dan. Don’t be getting your rage on. Are you working from home? If so, you can take a break at any moment and do any activity to reset your mood.
I feel for your IT department. They are probably overworked and understaffed and will have given realistic delivery plans for their projects and been told to do it quicker and cut corners to make a minimum viable product, meanwhile they will have produced what was asked for and then had to return and rewrite huge chunks of code one and over again because the instruction was poorly written, or left out key steps, the instruction was wrong or that the result is not usable or the issue the instruction without proper consultation and it will be rewritten from scratch or just because someone changed their minds... all of those things repeatedly... and for sure they were ignored when they warned of the dangers that are now realties.
Then there’s this angry sex obsessed baldy wanting to rip them a new one because he isn’t maintaining appropriate emotional distance from his work (“our...our...our” you dropped 3 in a row, Dan).
Peace,
kowalski

That day was particularly stressful but having realised I overreacted and that I shouldn't have let myself get so worked up, it's unlikely to happen again. Even my manager said to me yesterday when there was another similar issue, there's only so much you're able to do yourself. So, if something's out of my control and I at least do my best, then that's enough. I can't be expected to do shit that's out of my area of expertise.
Not working from home. We're prepared to, but there's only 6 in our team so we have a whole office to ourselves.
