Running

I thought I'd make a thread on here since I didn't want to de-rail my own rants with updates on my running and fitness regimes...

So this week I've successfully stuck to my goals (more or less), every day I've been in the office I've run or walked in. I would have run every day, but going from nothing to running 5-8 km a day is quite a bitch.

So Monday I surveyed the route, Tuesday I ran, Wednesday I recovered with walking in, and then surveyed a different slightly longer route back. Friday I ran the longer route in and out.

The reason I used the quantifier "more or less", was that I was off-site on Thursday and required to be there early so I had to get the train.
So all in all, I feel pretty good that I've stuck to a plan, I've clocked 34km this week and next week I intend to continue with that.

Next month I'll be running the Salford City 10k, as well as the Men's Health Survival of the Fittest the following month, both for Cancer Research. I aim to beat my time and get 50 and 70 mins respectively (the latter has a load of assault courses which end up eating into your time).

I'm also thinking of taking up rowing on weekends, does anybody have any experience with this? Where should I start? Just hit up my local rowing club or something?
