Last night it was a mates birthday, so quite a lot of us went out. It wasnt really busy out because exams have started but it was still good fun.

First we went to my mates house and had a laugh. Then we headed down to Varsity. On the way down I decided to try out something similar to Natural Tim's Happy Birthday approach but instead of saying 'happy birthday' I said 'high five'. Some girls were walking towards us so i tried it out:

me: high five (the first girl looked at me funny but another one went for it)
me: (I moved my hand away) to slow
her: (she turned and shot evils at me)
me: Sorry love (I hugged her and she played along by leaning into me pretending to be sad)
me: (I took a leaf out of cajun's book here) Oh your so cute, I'm keeping you. Sorry girls your losing your friend, shes coming with me.
(I start walking away with her, her mates are laughing and so is she)
her: Ive got to go with my friends sorry. Here put your number in my phone.

From there we just said we'd see each other later in Oceana. In Varsity we had a few drinks and just had a good laugh. We moved onto Idols where I was ignored and cold shouldered a few times so lost my nerve. In Oceana I got ignored again so I was on a bit of a downer. I opened a girl and we just got talking, then her mate came over and said she had a boyfriend. I was pretty gutted and felt like my social proof was hitting rock bottom. I got over this by making the girls hug me before I left. It was easy, I just leaned in gave them both a hug and said 'bye girls' and gave them a smile. I got a quick hug off both of them and as I turned around I saw a few girls looking at me. My social proof felt normal again.

I ended up meeting the cute girl a bit later on and she told me her mate said I was a player and she'd seen me with loads of girls tonight. I hadnt actually been with loads of girls but I'd spoke to quite a few girls in Oceana and got atleast a hug/peck on the cheek from them. I'd also danced with a few girls that Im friendly with so it shows that my social proof was up which Im landed about.

I only open girls by themselves or just a few friends and it was normally by the bar or the smoking area etc. It was a good learning curve for me. I used things I've learnt in the community and applied them to the situations I was in. I had the confidence to approach any girl by themselves or in small groups and Im very happy I was able to turn rejections positive.

Keep going dude. Not every night is gonna be ultra-successful.

were the girls people you have seen before? i swear down(exeter) here if i went to hug one they wouldnt of accepted it at all. All about trying i guess
