Thanks bruh

And yes that's exactly what I was thinking of myself too as I was lying in hospital roaring in pain

That and the fact that I'd also inadvertently fucked up my chances of screwing any of the girls that night

The Junior Psychologist job I applied for 2 months ago seems to have faded into non-existence. Not even a polite rejection email.

However a friend who used to work in our office made me aware of an opportunity with the international company he works for, ModSquad. The job is working from home, providing customer service via email and live chats. The pay is apparently significantly more than my current base salary before commission. So I applied. Someone responded personally from them (not a bot) and I'm told they're assessing my application and will make me aware if any of their openings fit.

Since I'm off work injured I've been trying to figure out what online business to try out next, having fucked up my dropshipping attempt in 2019. But I'm getting a bit burnt out, frustrated and impatient. So I think I might just relax for a bit and see what happens with this other crowd first.

Got rejected for the remote working from home job. At least they had the courtesy to tell me, that other crowd didn't even bother. But fuck that I'm going to follow up with THEM and send them a mail about it.

Aside from that, I've been intermittent fasting all week 18 hours a day with a 6 hour eating window from midday to 6pm. I'm eating a very good, very high protein diet (willing to share if anyone's interested). I figured that, since I can't go to the gym for another couple of months, I'm going to shred the fuck out of my body and trim all excess fat. I've taken off 9 pounds since Monday. I'm finding it very easy and the reason is that I'm off work and therefore I have no scattered shifts to deal with and I can time everything precisely.

I can take almost another 5 months off work fully paid and I think that's exactly what I'll do because not only won't I be recovered from my injury for quite a while yet, but I will use that time to come up with a new business. I'd be foolish not to utilise the opportunity.

My current problem is coming up with the idea. It's really bugging me because if I had the idea I could get started. But it'll be ok, I'll figure it out.

Currently on day 4 of an online business training called Zero to Launch, run by a successful entrepreneur from Dublin. He chose 50 applicants to take part.

The concept is we participate in a live training every morning, and then follow up with homework for that day, and uploading to a Facebook group each day.

He admits that it's extremely unlikely anyone is going to literally have their business up and running in 5 days. Although it's possible, it's highly improbable. He will of course be offering the opportunity to continue working with him afterwards on his more advanced, paid course (this is currently free).

Some would say this is a glorified sales pitch, and they'd probably be right. However, his approach is certainly a unique one. He seems a decent fella, who has already taught me in this training about generating ideas, and going really deep using the Japanese concept known as Ikigai.

Trying to brainstorm ideas for a new business that would really mean something to me rather than just some bullshit business I don't give a fuck about (like my dropshipping attempt), has been a huge obstacle for me up to now. But this has given me a way to get past this sticking point.

In five days I can build you a Shopify business with social media campaigns and PPC, ready to sell. I don't see how in 2020 this could be revolutionary.

Yeah, I could do it in a day, having already attempted that generic dropshipping bullshit in 2019, trying to sell some rubbish I didn't care for nor was it my own products. Doing something basic and generic like this gives you no creative outlet or real skin in the game. The barrier to entry is so low that it makes it very easy to start, and even easier to quit.

This time around what I'm looking to do is create a business in which I can actually utilise my own experience and strong points into something I'm pleased to be a part of. Something that actually excites me to continue building and improving rather than the aforementioned alternative; hoping to wake up to my store having sold multiple pieces of trash from China.

Just purchased a couple of courses off Udemy..

Beginner to Advanced Life Coaching Certificate Course

and

Advanced to Expert Life Coaching Practitioner Diploma

Both are certified by Achology: The Academy of Modern Applied Psychology

They contain a combined total of 84 hours of lectures and videos. With a whole bunch of interactive and downloadable materials, amongst other stuff.

The reason for getting these was because the short business course I've just done kind of unveiled to me that I should or could start a coaching business.

Regardless, this appears not only enjoyable to me but highly valuable no matter if I start a coaching business or not. Plus I got it at a huge discount.

(26 quid rather than 400 in case you're interested)

Because of my experience in the eCommerce world, I actually thought there was a high possibility that this was just one of those urgency timer things of which the purpose is to get customers to buy quickly, and the price was quite low all the time.

Well, it was an urgency timer, and I did buy within the time limit, after which both courses went back up to £199.99 each. Got a fucking bargain.

No real point to this post. Just thinking out loud, but on the internet.

Actually quite intrigued by these courses though. I'd much rather be at home engrossed in these than going back to work.

There's a brand new energy company coming to Ireland. Effectively, a competitor of my current company. A member of their in-house talent acquisition reached out to me on LinkedIn and asked me if I'd be interested in discussing a move to them.

They're building their very first front office team based in Belfast and require experienced advisors, team leads and trainers. I told her I'd be interested in hearing more about it and we have a call scheduled for 1pm tomorrow.

Having been involved with the energy industry for the best part of 5 years I'd say I'm in a pretty strong position as a potential candidate.

I don't have any expectations other than to just go with the flow on the call and see how the conversation develops. I don't necessarily need to be ready with a whole list of questions other than the basics. They need me more than I need them, so it's up to them to seduce me.

Working for the new energy company sounds interesting. The main reason being that it's absolutely brand new, and as new recruits you're quite literally going to be there from the company's very beginning.

In my estimation this can only mean one thing - that you'll move up fast. Obviously you couldn't just sleepwalk your way up, but my 5 years in this industry puts me in a position to hit the ground running.

They need energy specialists, team leads and trainers. I made her aware I was available for any of those roles but particularly team lead and trainer. As I've more than enough experience to take them on. She also asked me to tell her the salaries of the roles, because as they're new they don't know what they should be. Of course, she could have just said this to get an idea of what I'd be expecting. I played it safe and said a number which is about average for those roles. But at interview I'd be negotiating the lowest of these further to allow for the equivalent of sales bonus I would have made (if that's the job I was to get). In fact I should probably aim a little higher, since I'd appreciate an extra incentive to come over to them.

They want to launch in May, and take on their first 5 employees in late March early April, in order to allow 4 weeks training.

To me, the idea of being a prospectively large company's very first ever staff sounds quite exciting. And since they're actively seeking out staff from rival company's, it feels like I hold quite a few of the cards.

Gunna pass on my CV and go for the interview in a week or 2.
