Default Investment Opportunity - 09-10-2013, 07:19 PM

Hello guys,

Thought I’d share an investment opportunity I've been involved in for the past month for those who might be interested.

For some background info about myself, I've always been interested in poker and loved playing it. I even had a run (albeit an unsuccessful one) at seriously making money from it a while back. But despite giving up ever making any significant money from it I've still always been interested in strategies and followed the poker scene on the forums. I came across this concept one day browsing the twoplustwo forums and was interested.

The guys are called Poker by Proxy. I’ll paraphrase what they do in the four steps found on their website;
1. You deposit funds into Poker By Proxy
2. Those funds are pooled with every other member
3. A team of professional players hit the tables and generate a result
4. Profits/Losses are calculated and applied daily to your account. You can withdraw any funds you have including your principal at any time.

I was interested and had a spare $100 so I deposited on 16th September. The results were great; by the end of the month my average daily interest earned was approx. 2.43%, generating around $36.31 between 16th - 30th September. I love the flexibility of being able to access any amount of my funds at any times and had zero issues withdrawing the funds from my account.

I was so impressed I’m going again for another month.

Because its poker there is of course risk involved. While the guys acknowledge losses are a possibility there is a stop/loss clause in place where they will never lose more than 5% of your investment in one day. You can deposit with as little as $25 and a maximum of $200,000. What’s also very cool is that all interest earned is compounded.

So guys there it is, an investment opportunity in the form of Poker by Proxy. I always recommend everyone do their own research when thinking of making an investment in any program. For those of you who think it’ll be a worthwhile investment I’d be very grateful if you signed up using the referral code below. Happy investing!

This seems too much like an advertisement for me not to be skeptical...

I can guarantee you I'm not affiliated with them in any way. I don't benefit from advertising their program at all unless people sign up with the referral code at the bottom, which would be awesome by the way if people did as their referral program is pretty lucrative.

Way I see it, I've made money from it so why not share it. I like this forum and the people who use it and some people here are interested in making money so i'l share any opportunities I ever come across.

That's cool that your skeptical, as I was initially, but like I said in my last post I always advise people to do their own research and make a decision from there.

What research have you done? All I'm getting is forum posts made by them and the occasional interview, nothing impartial...

I may be inclined to just drop $25 and see what happens, but I can't help but feel its one of those things where people invest a small amount, gain a bit of trust, then as soon as a large amount of capital comes the company disappears.

I've provided three links in my first post. Two of which are independent reviews from companies that monitor HYIP programs and check them for payment status, news stories, credibility and real practical value. One link is a forum post in which various users of Money Maker Group tested the site and reported back their findings, all of which were positive. I also have a couple of city trader Facebook friends who have given me their opinions on the program and see it as a fun short term investment program.

In regards to your second point you could be right and I have had these thoughts myself. However you can manage your own liability by setting your own set of goals for the program. For me personally my only investment will be nothing more than my initial $100. I also review the program on a monthly basis and withdraw all interest after one month and only leave my principal investment remaining. Should I feel the program will yield another profitable month i'l leave my principal in there. Should the program have 2 consecutive losses of 5% then that indicates trouble for me and I'm gone.

The ability to withdraw your principal at any time gives me a lot of reassurance, and because I deposited via Paypal I do have some buyer protection should the worst happen. Even if the worst did I've already withdrawn ~$35 thus far and the money was what I had spare in any case and could afford to lose.

If you can spare $25 then it may be worth a shot dude. Just make sure to set your own goals and expectations for the program, set your own personal stop/loss and see how you get on.

I've set up an account, I was going to deposit $25 via PayPal but it's reached a limit for yesterday. The server is in Panama so I'm assuming their counter will reset come trading hours (9am, 3pm GMT)? Either way $25 is fuck all so its worth it just to find out I guess.

The reason I'm skeptical is mainly since a cumulative daily return of 3% (the average from their historic rates) seems too good.

I had problems with depositing via Paypal too, It took a couple days but that was the only method I was prepared to use.

I agree mate but they are professional poker players and professional poker players do make money. I have a few acquaintances who play professionally and if I could back them the same way I do with PbP then I'd have tripled my entire principal every few days, so by that logic 3% cumulative is fairly poor.

Either way its a very unique investment opportunity which I have been impressed with so far. Like I said earlier, do your own research, set you own goals and expectations and only invest with money you can afford to lose.

Many thanks for using the referral link too man, I appreciate it.

I'm going into with no expectation to be honest, just for shits and giggles, I'll be happy if I make back any money I put into it. And no worries for the link, its free money at the end of the day.

I might give this a go with a spare £20. As D!ce says, no expectations. Will make a change from spending it in the pub.

Without looking too much into it, if its been endorsed by users on 2+2 I'd say this is definitely legit & more than likely profitable before those guys are getting into it.

I used to make a pretty tidy sum during my online poker days. I effectively stopped playing about 2 years ago when it became too time consuming to find time to put in hours for both playing & studying. The burst of the online poker boom made it a lot harder as most players now are semi competent if not better than me which makes it harder to win. Losing money for 18 months on Full Tilt when it got suspended was also a nightmare. I ended up with a decent 5 figure sum in profit, but profit in No Limit is pretty hard these days, Omaha is where its at now but the swings involved are too crazy for me.

I saw similar things when I was involved in the online community and friends used to give me money to play for them also.

I'd imagine this could be a nice little earner.
