After chatting a few ideas with jynx on Saturday I've been thinking about making an Android app for the forum, its gonna need a fair bit of research since I'm not familiar with the availability of any data endpoints and it may require data scraping. But what do you guys think, do you think it would be useful and would it get some use? Don't want to spend time on it if nobody wants to use it!

All right before you start pissing on that bonfire I was just asking for opinions, there are actually many benefits to a mobile application over a browser, reduced data use, data caching, mobile user interface etc, same reason you wouldn't use the Google+ desktop view on a mobile.
And I can't really argue on that latter point.
It would be a fair amount of work, but I was thinking it would be a nice little side project that would help me brush up on mobile optimisation techniques if people were going to use it.

Although now looking into it, there seems to be a few already out there, in addition to the mobile add-on available for vBulletin, though admittedly a touch pricey for what it is. Ho hum.
