I had quite a deep discussion with my old man last night. Maybe it's because I'm leaving soon.
But the crux of it was we agreed that a man really comes into his prime in his forties. Then you have at least 10-15 years in that period before it starts to decline. You guys in your twenties, you've not even got to the best bit yet. In your thirties you tend to spend a lot of energy on work because you are trying to establish income and status. By forties you've kind of got that.
I would say 40 -55 is a prime time for a man, unless you've let yourself go to ruin, which is the antithesis of what this forum is all about. All I'm saying is play the long game.
I admire that you guys are doing this at the age you are now though. I realise I'm coming at it further down the road, but I'm okay with that. I'm still a bit away from the downward slope.
Can't live with them, can't live with them
