I think you need to seriously re-evaluate how you respond to comfort vs growth. You can't have barely changed at all in your "adult life" because of the friction of that house, your childhood bedroom, your family etc.

Only children live under the command of their parents. You are a 34 year old child. You should be embarrassed.

Go out into the world alone. Move far away from your family. Don't accept any help from them. Learn to be self reliant. A man. Then you can bring other people into your life.
