You’re the star of your own unique life story!

When we watch a film we always wish the star of the story would take all the risks and engage in all of the excitement and action. Whenever the star doesn’t do this we curse him, and when he does we celebrate. However, in real life situations we seem to be decidedly more reserved and careful. Everything is taken a little more seriously, and if we were watching the story of ourselves on a big screen we’d probably be cursing ourselves all the way.

We don’t engage in the action because we’re worried what might happen next, or afraid of the consequences. However, it’s important to remember that although real life situations might seem more serious:

You could spend your whole life worrying what other people think about you, or afraid to take any risks. However, if that’s not how you would expect someone else to act in the same situations then you’re not living authentically. Living authentically means living by what you say. It’s very easy to criticise the actions of others but in truth:

Life isn’t meant to be so rigid. We know this intuitively, which is why we always wish others would take more risks, it’s why we’re always keen for the star of the movie to let go of all inhibitions and dive into the action totally.

In stepping into the unknown life becomes a little scarier but a whole lot freer. At times it might be a little less comfortable, but it also becomes a whole lot more exciting. Just before you take your last breath and your life flashes before your eyes, how do you want your starring role to be?

Will you remember a dull, bleak, bland existence in which you never really came out of your shell? Or will you remember an epic adventure of untold bravery and excitement?

Truly, the choice is yours. You’re the star!
