Lost my wallet tonight. Or rather, I believe some tramp pick pocketed me.

Was on a staff do for winning call centre of the year or some shit. At one point I went to the bar and noticed I was missing a wallet.

Cue loadsa colleagues searching for it. We didn't find it. Asked the bar people if anything was handed in. No.

The bird I'm seeing works in a bank (not my bank) and she got me the number to cancel the account I have a grand in (not the bank she works in).

I canceled my cards. But there was 200 quid in my wallet. As well as literally everything important and that identifies me.

I can honestly say that, had I discovered who took my wallet, that they would have suffered a severe beating and would be in hospital now. So, lucky them.

Anyway, it's only 200 quid but very frustrating. My little boys birthday is tomoro and thankfully I already paid for his party and got his present.

I hope whoever took it buys a load of drugs with the 200 quid and dies from an overdose.

I'm extremely paranoid now. I think my TL has a vendetta against me after our argument on Friday, where I proved him wrong about a half day being 3 hours 45 minutes rather than his claim of it being 4 hours.

The other TL in our department asked me earlier in front of 2 mates if there was cameras in the venue. I told him only at the bar and not up where we were sitting, and he said "well that's me off scot-free then" as he walked away. Even if it was a joke, it might not have been a joke. This guy was sitting beside me on the night at one point, he was very quiet, and then out of the blue he made a quick exit. I'm not 100% sure if I had my wallet before or after that but it's just bothered me since. And then for him to say what he said earlier bothers me even more.

I strongly suspect that my own TL is in the process of building a case against me. This could consist of all the little things like being slightly late, going over a bit on lunch etc, and whatever else can be thrown my way.

I decided today that I'd definitely be leaving the company after this incident. I did plan to leave in or around the new year, but I think it might be a good idea to get in there first before a case comes my way, and apply for the other company I wanted to go to (BT).

On the other hand I have to attend the police station tomorrow after work to go through some further details of the theft, and I assume so that they can see what I look like for the purposes of checking the available CCTV from the venue.

What I do need to do in the meantime is keep on top of things for now, and don't step out of line from tomorrow onward.

Stop being slightly late. Granted these things happen from time to time, but really theres no excuse.

Stop going "slightly over" on lunch. 100% no excuse for this whatsoever.

You also sound a bit oaranoid in the post

Just applied for Ulster Bank customer service, and BT customer service.

I was a little hesitant as I've been in my current job for 26 months meaning I haven't applied for anything in about 2 and a half years, and the fact that Christmas is coming up etc.

But fuck it, I hit the send button.

Nothing ventured nothing gained but nothing lost either.

Passed the online test for Ulster Bank (which is also Royal Bank of Scotland). Next step is a 30 minute phone interview.

Although I'm still slightly apprehensive about the timing, i.e it's coming up to Xmas etc, I've nothing to lose by calling them tomorrow to have the chat and see what happens.

Why you doing this? Won't you just end up with a roughly similar job in a roughly similar office getting paid a roughly similar amount of money only starting from scratch with learning their systems and norms, building relationships, and so on.

And, you are normally singing their praises. Seems like maybe you are doing this because you are frightened of being sacked.

Peace,

kowalski

Very valid points. I was pissed the fuck off on Monday and feeling not only pissed off but paranoid as fuck. I'm not going to be sacked.

Aside from having to do all the above I'd be getting a 2k salary increase. For now though I think it's fair to say that starting a new job at the exact same time as starting the very last module of my studies could be another one of the plate spinning situations I usually create for myself.

I think I might be better to just leave it until at least the new year after I've had more time to consider it. Plus who the hell wants to switch jobs in November right before Christmas and all that shit.

There were some significant revelations made today in a comms session. Big changes lie ahead for the entire Belfast office over the next few months.

They call it Project 17 (cos it has been in production all of 2017, of course).

There will be massive restructuring going on, starting in 4 weeks time. Our Home Moves department will be moving back to Dublin, and we'll be getting the Sales and Options department from Waterford. There is going to be a new commission structure and sales will be easier to get because it will be inbound sales and retentions - meaning motherfuckers come to you.

Nobody is physically moving, just the departments, meaning everyone will simply be taking on new jobs and responsibilities, but staying where they're based.

There's also going to be a new team doing business sales, which I imagine have a larger commission packet.

There's a whole bunch of other roles coming too. This includes 12 brand new positions (brand new for the Belfast office) ranging from management, team leaders, to training amongst others.

I fully intend to bag myself one of these 12 next level positions.

So basically I'm no longer interested in switching to a new company, because there's a very positive outlook for our workplace, and it's honestly exciting.

Amid all the changes in my company recently, I was taken aside last week for questioning, at the request of HR. I was allegedly witness to an incident that was now subject to an internal investigation.

I'll cut the bullshit, my team leader fraudulently presented yearly review papers to our manager back in June. Those papers had signatures from some if not all of us, his team, which he asked us to sign to cover his ass for him not doing our reviews in February, when they should have been done.

However, the back story is, there was a series of events that backed me into a corner. One day in June our manager was having a casual chat with us at our desks and she became aware that none of us had received our respective yearly review. This pissed her off and off she went, doing whatever she was gunna do.

Five minutes later my TL called me aside and asked me to sign a review paper, dated in March. He told me quietly "do me this favour and I'll see you right" or something to that effect.

Another five minutes later my manager calls me aside with that exact review paper and says "when did you sign this?" ... She is not an asshole or anything, myself and her get on great, and she told me "this goes no further than me and you right now" tell me, did you sign this today?

I said to her "I'm on the fucking spot now aren't I" and she said yes, but "just be honest, this will go no further than me and you right now". She already knew the truth, and I said yes ok I signed it 5 minutes ago.

(I should point out that our current manager is not in our Belfast office very much, mostly being in our Dublin office, just in case you're thinking she's a spastic and didn't see this shit happening in front of her)

I know my TL was called aside straight away, but nothing has been said since, until last week.

A neutral senior staff member from another department was the one who questioned me about it last week. In light of what was already known I felt no choice but to tell the truth. All the team were questioned about it.

I wish I'd had a way out of saying anything, but the timing of events that day rules it out - our manager already knew, then my TL got us to sign shit, then the manager found out. Our TL effectively made me an accomplice in this in an attempt to cover up his own inconsistencies.

I don't know what's gunna happen next. I'm off all this week, and my TL has been in NYC for the past 2 weeks. So when I go back next Monday it'll be 3 weeks since I've seen him.

The bottom line is, I've done fuck all wrong, it's just that some people (my TL and his close associates) will not see it that way.

The way I see it, I was fucked either way - either lie to my manager, or tell the truth and put my TL in shit.

To be honest, not one single fuck is given by me cos I'm not the one who fucked up.

Anyone any thoughts on this?

You are at fault Dan. You signed a paper in the month of June saying it was March. That's forging company documents.

Regardless of whether your boss was pissed off, your TL didn't do there job properly or he was trying to sweet talk you - none of those things are your problem. You should have refused to sign the document and if you got any backlash from it raised it with HR.
