I don't get what's been said here?

Are we saying that that if we are sober, then we can't tell when a girl is so drunk that she is effectively unable to make a informed decision as to whether to sleep with you; that somehow us being sober makes us unable to make this judgement?

The converse is that when WE are drunk also, we are better able to judge when a girl is too drunk to be realistically able to consent - or at least we are too drunk to know better and so we abdicate responsibility?

The latter is very similar to the drunk driving defense of old: when you've had a drink, you're a better - more relaxed driver, or the crash was not your fault because you were drunk.

A sober person is far less likely to take advantage of an incapacitated girl than a drunk guy.
